PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise operating ratio of a white line recognizing device, by not making it stop an onboard camera more than required under high temperature. SOLUTION: A road surface partition mark recognizing device which recognizes partition marks of a road surface, includes: an onboard camera which images a road surface ahead of a vehicle; an image processing part which has a plurality of imaging processing modes, corresponding to a plurality of kinds of road surface partition marks respectively, identifies kinds of the road surface partition mark included in the road surface imaged by the onboard camera, selects corresponding one imaging processing mode out of a plurality of image processing modes, and recognizes the road surface partition mark in the selected image processing mode; a temperature measurement part which measures the temperature of the onboard camera; and a restriction part which restricts operation of the onboard camera, when the temperature measured in the temperature measurement part is equal to or more than a threshold.
