<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently cool a power code of a vacuum cleaner by using a cold exhaust flowing through a vacuum cleaner body as much as possible in order to cool the power code. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes: an electric blower chamber 10 provided with an electric blower 9 wherein a fan-side exhaust port 26 and a motor-side exhaust port are formed respectively in a fan portion 24 and a motor portion which suck air; and a power code housing chamber 11 housing the power code 13. The vacuum cleaner is provided with a bypassing path 34 for passing an exhaust exhausted from the fan-side exhaust port 26 from the electric blower chamber 10 to the power cord housing chamber 11 side. Since the exhaust exhausted from the fan-side exhaust port 26 is an exhaust which is not used to cool the motor portion, the exhaust passes through the bypassing path 34 in the state of the same ordinary temperature as an outside temperature, and flows into the power cord housing chamber 11.
