<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of reducing the concentrations of fluorine and phosphorus in wastewater by decomposing fluorophosphate compounds in the wastewater which can stably decompose the fluorophosphate compounds in the wastewater. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method enables a reduction in the concentrations of fluorine and phosphorus in wastewater by decomposing the fluorophosphate compounds in the wastewater. This method comprises the process for adding sulfuric acid into the wastewater containing hydrofluoric acid, the process for adjusting the temperature of the wastewater to 65-85°C, the process for keeping the wastewater within the above temperature range, and the process for adding a calcium compound into the wastewater.
