PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of precisely performing operation inspection of a light quantity detecting apparatus without irradiating light having different illuminance. SOLUTION: This light quantity detecting apparatus comprises: a buffer BFa2 outputting signals which vary in response to the integration of quantity of received light with a monitor sensor MSa; a comparator CPa outputting the signal of the comparison result by comparing the signal output from the buffer BFa2 with a reference value Vref; a dummy comparator signal generating part TG3a generating the same signal as the signal of the comparison result output from the comparator CPa; a switch SWa switching the output of the comparator CPa to the output of the dummy comparator signal generating part TG3a in response to the control signal; and an integration signal generating part TG1a generating the signal indicating completion of the integration of the quantity of received light based on the signal transmitted through the switch SWa.
