<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable efficient transfer in a transfer system by appropriately controlling traveling of a vehicle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The transfer system includes a track (100), a plurality of vehicles (200) that each run on the track, a plurality of storage racks (500) for storing objects (400) to be transferred, a transfer instruction means (320) for issuing transfer instructions to transfer the objects to the plurality of vehicles, a transfer announcement means (310) for, prior to such a transfer instruction, calling one vehicle to a location and putting it on standby for the transfer instruction, an entry detection means (330) for detecting the entry of another vehicle into a predetermined distance range of the one vehicle on standby, a determination means (360) for determining whether or not the remaining period from the entry to the transfer instruction is longer than a predetermined period, and a control means (370) for controlling the one vehicle so as to cancel the standby state if the remaining period is longer than the predetermined period.
