<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article management system and an information processing device, capable of managing an existing position of an article in a store and a warehouse. <P>SOLUTION: This article management system has an object detecting means constituted of a plurality of placing areas and outputting object position information by detecting an object approaching a placing part for placing the article, a radio tag reading means having a radio tag reader part for outputting radio tag reading information by reading a radio tag attached to the article, and an article position specifying means for associatively storing the object position information and the radio tag reading information and outputting the information as the article position specifying information.
