<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic image forming apparatus which makes user's operation performed when changing a developing cartridge as little as possible, and which informs a user that detachment of a cover member 90 is forgotten at the attaching/detaching position even when detachment of the cover member 90 is forgotten. <P>SOLUTION: Engaging parts 91 and 92 of a developing cover member 90 are caught by body locking members 22 and 23 at the attaching/detaching position of the developing cartridges 5a, 5b, 5c and 5d in an image forming apparatus body, whereby the rotation of a rotary 1 is prevented.
