<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control system capable of synchronizing scanning periods of a master machine controller and a slave machine controller. Ž<P>SOLUTION: One master controller and one or more slave controllers are connected to each other via a communication network. The master controller multicasts a synchronization frame in a prescribed communication period to the slave controllers. When the scanning period of the slave controller is a multiple or fraction of that of the master controller, use of the synchronization frame synchronizes the scanning period of the slave controller with that of the master controller.
