<p>A hanger with ratcheting sliding-jaw clamps is disclosed. At each of a plurality of gripping locations, a stationary gripping member 200 and a mobile gripping member 120 are provided, one or both of which terminate in an inwardly directed article supporting finger 210, 232. For each pair of gripping members, a fastening arm 216 is provided on one of the members while a channel is provided in the other of the gripping members. The fastening arm has an array of ratcheting teeth 222. A movable pawl or latch on the other gripping member engages with the teeth of the ratchet to fasten the gripping members together and to secure e.g. a pair of vehicle floor mats therebetween. Levers or tabs 264 release the clamps by moving the pawl out of engagement with the teeth of the ratchet. The hanger may be injection moulded in one piece.</p> |
