PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device which precisely determines whether or not a dark image subtracting process is required for a local black floating inside a photographing screen, and implements the dark image subtracting process while shortening a process time.

SOLUTION: This imaging device includes: an imaging element 103 for photoelectrically converting a subject light; a correcting means 117 for correcting this image read out from the imaging element 103 without shading the imaging element 103 based on a dark image read out from the imaging element 103 while shading the imaging element 103; and a control means 113 for determining whether or not the correction by the correcting means 117 is implemented based on a partial signal of the dark image.
