PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fixability, particularly, immediately after the start-up of a fixing device that heats a fixing roller from its surface by use of an external heating device, and to provide an image forming apparatus that improves job efficiency. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a toner image forming means, a transfer means, a fixing means, and an interruption control means. The apparatus has two or more job interruption reference temperatures. The job interruption control means separately selects one of the two or more interruption reference temperatures for at least either a job performed immediately after start-up from the turning on of a power source or immediately after restoration from a sleep mode or jobs other than this job.
