PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating cooker for reducing electric power consumption to maintain preheating temperature and reducing total electric power consumption. SOLUTION: The heating cooker 1 includes a convection heater unit 50 for heating a cooking ingredient F within a heating chamber 20 by hot air. When preheating is selected, a control device 70 operates the convection heater unit 50 to preheat the heating chamber 20. The control device 70 executes an electric power saving preheating process to lower the on-time level of a heating on-off duty from the middle of a preheating process to interruption or completion of the preheating process. In the electric power saving preheating process, the control device 70 makes a display part 15 indicate that the electric power saving preheating process is being executed.
