PURPOSE: A method of setting a digital television for a favorite channel or a preferred program is provided to enable users to easily download information regarding the favorite channel or the preferred program. CONSTITUTION: A method of setting a digital television for a favorite channel or a preferred program comprises the following steps: turning on a first digital television(602); outputting a broadcasting program received through a channel which is currently selected through a first controller of the first digital television(604); setting a preference broadcast program or a channel according to the needs of users(606); storing a preference information regarding the preference broadcast program or the channel in a first data storage; selecting a preference information transmission menu by the users; and transmitting the preference information to a portable storage medium(608).
