PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin component, which is to be a raw material of a printing original plate for laser engraving, capable of manufacturing a printing original plate excellent in laser engraving property and printing property, and to provide a printing plate obtained from the resin component. SOLUTION: The letterpress printing original plate for the laser engraving uses a soluble synthetic polymer compound which is a block copolymer containing hard segments having hydrogen bonds and soft segments of polyethyleneglycol, wherein the hard segments contain basic tertiary nitrogen atoms and the basic tertiary nitrogen atoms are quaternized by an photopolymerizable group-containing protonic quaternizing agent.
