METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ENCODING/DECODING IMAGE USING ADAPTIVE BINARIZATION

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for encoding/decoding an image using adaptive binarization are provided to encode and decode the image by binarizing and inverse-coding a residual value using a binarization table. CONSTITUTION: A method for encoding/decoding an image using adaptive binarization comprises the following steps: selecting a binarization table for binarizing a residual value subtracted with a predication value from a current pixel value from plural binarization tables based on the predication value(810); producing a binary column using the binarization table to binarize the residual value(820); and performing an arithmetic coding of the binary column(830).
