PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a flavone derivative, and an inhibitory agent for a sialic-acid transferase comprising a flavone derivative as an effective component. SOLUTION: There are provided: the method of producing a compound represented by formula [in the formula, R<SB>1</SB>represents H or OH, and n is 1, 2 or 3]; and the inhibitory agent for a sialic-acid transferase comprising the compound as an effective component. The inhibitory agent for a sialic-acid transferase is useful as a prophylactic/therapeutic drug for inflammation, metastasis of cancer, and a viral infection disease such as a prophylactic/therapeutic drug for influenza, or is useful in analyzing the mechanism of the onset of the diseases.
