ACID POLYSACCHARIDE OF GREEN TEA HAVING ANTI-INFLAMMATION ACTIVITY AND ANTI-INFLAMMATORY COMPOSITION CONTAINING SAME

PURPOSE: An anti-inflammatory composition containing acid polysaccharide of green tea is provided to relieve skin irritation, pruritus, and inflammation and to treat and prevent inflammatory dermatitis. CONSTITUTION: An acid polysaccharide having a function of suppressing inflammation is isolated from green tea. The acid polysaccharide is isolated by extracting with hot water and performing ultrafiltration and ethanol precipitation. The acid polysaccharide is rhamnose, arabinose, ribose, xylose, glucose, mannose and D-galactose. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating inflammatory dermatitis contains 0.05-50 weight% of acid polysaccharide as an active ingredient. A cosmetic composition having function of suppressing inflammation contains 0.05-5 weight% of acid polysaccharide based on total weight. The cosmetic composition is used in the form of skin softener, nutrition lotion, massage cream, moisture cream, nutrition cream, pack, gel, body lotion, body cream, body oil, shampoo, and body cleanser.
