发明名称 Improvements relating to Gear Cutting Machines with Intermittent Indexing Mechanisms.
摘要 1,158,235. Gear cutting. GLEASON WORKS. 1 Feb., 1968 [13 March, 1967], No. 5171/68. Heading B3K. A gear-cutting machine has a work spindle 24 rotatably mounted in a housing 22, a notched index plate 28 mounted on the spindle for limited rotation relative thereto, means for engaging and disengaging a pawl 31 in and from the notches in the index plate and for angularly advancing the plate, and fluid pressure means acting between the plate and spindle in timed relation to the indexing of the plate for effecting said limited relative rotation. An axially movable and partially rotatable spindle 35 carries a cam 33 engageable with a follower 34 for moving the pawl 31. A pin 41 on the spindle engages slots 42 on the underside of the plate 28 to advance it angularly. The required axial and rotational movements of the spindle 35 are effected by hydraulic piston valve means 39 and a vane-type motor 37. Hydraulically operable pistons 55, 56 in a cylinder block 57 secured to the work spindle 24 bear on either side of an upstanding abutment 58 on the index plate 28 and effect the desired relative rotation of plate and spindle. The extent of this relative rotation may be adjusted to zero by means of a micrometer adjusted screwed pin 62. Cams 53, 68, Fig. 5, on the work spindle control the operations of the vane-type motor 37, piston valve 39 and the pistons 55, 56 in suitably timed relation. The invention is applied to selectively controlling the extent of taper of the teeth and tooth spaces of curved tooth bevel gears (Figs. 1, 2, not shown). The cutter may be similar to that disclosed in Specification 1,072,208.
