A ball or roller-catch, locating interchangeable tool-heads on a shaft 10, comprises a resilient plastics housing 12 which is closed upon the ball by virtue of its tight fit in the hole 11 in the tool-shaft. The housing is preferably slotted at 18 to improve its resilience. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 4, the spring 14a is lightly compressed when the unit is not in situ so that there is no danger of the ball being expelled. But a projection 21, acting on plate 22 serves to compress the spring when the catch is inserted into hole ha. The catches may be inserted into the holes in the shaft by ejection from a tube. |
