<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical glass where a preform material and an optical element are easily manufactured by a polishing work and a method for reducing the cloudiness of a glass molded body. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The optical glass contains, by mol%, an SiO<SB>2</SB>ingredient of 44.0% or more and 60.0% or less, a B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>ingredient of 14.0% or more and 30.0% or less, a BaO ingredient of 15.0% or more and 35.0% or less to the total amount of glass materials in terms of oxides and a ZnO ingredient and/or a TiO<SB>2</SB>ingredient as an essential ingredient. In the optical glass, chemical durability (water resistance) by a powder method is in class 1-3. In the method for reducing the cloudiness of the glass molded body made by glass-polishing, the Zn ingredient and/or the Ti ingredient is contained in the glass before polishing.
