<p>Provided is a spherical surface acoustic wave device which is simple in structure and easy to manufacture, can positively install a surface acoustic wave propagation substrate used so as to be able to measure variations in external environment precisely at all times, and can replace the substrate easily. The spherical surface acoustic wave device (10) comprises the surface acoustic wave propagation substrate (12) including, on the outer surface thereof, a surface acoustic wave circulating circuit (12a) configured continuously and annularly using at least a part of the spherical shape so that a surface acoustic wave can be excited and the excited surface acoustic wave can propagate and circulate in the continuous direction of the annular circuit; a substrate support (14) for supporting the regions on the outer surface of the substrate excluding the circulating circuit; and an excitation/detection unit support (20) for supporting an elastic deformation member (18) that supports a surface acoustic wave excitation/detection unit (16), bringing the excitation/detection unit into contact with the circulating circuit on the outer surface of the substrate with the elastic deformation member therebetween, and deforming the elastic deformation member elastically.</p> |
