<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently irradiate an object to be heated with an ultraviolet ray while preventing uneven irradiation, and to provide the object to be heated of high quality after cooking with heat. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A heating cooker includes a heating chamber 14, a light irradiation means 16 for irradiating the object 12 to be heated with the ultraviolet ray, a mounting means 18, a shape detecting means 21 for detecting a shape of the object 12 to be heated, and a control means 27, and the control means 27 extracts optimum distances of the mounting means 18 and the light irradiation means 16 in response to the shape of the object 12 to be heated, based on a detection signal from the shape detecting means 21, and cooks the object 12 to be heated, to get to the high quality.
