<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device enabling to smoothly supply paper from a great-capacity paper feeder independently of the thickness of the paper without reducing the paper storage amount of the external great-capacity paper feeder. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image forming device enables paper feed from the external great-capacity paper feeder. It comprises a body frame, and a cover unit openably supported on the body frame and provided with a slot passage formed by band-shaped upper and lower guide plates for passing the paper supplied from the great-capacity paper feeder through the slot passage inclining it upward and combining it into a feed passage. The rear end of the upper guide plate on the inlet side of the slot passage is turnably journaled to the cover unit, and the front end of the upper guide plate on the outlet side of the slot passage is moved up to increase the upward inclination angle of the slot passage when the cover unit is closed, and is moved down to a predetermined position when the cover unit is opened.
