Novel anhydrous hydroxy aminimines having in their molecule at least one moiety of Formula I in which each of R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> is alkyl, cycloalkyl or aralkyl, or R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> together represent a single divalent organic radical, are prepared by reacting, in the absence of water, a compound having at least one reactive epoxide moiety of Formula II with an unsymmetrical disubstituted hydrazine of Formula III Preferred compounds having the moiety of Formula I are compounds of Formula IV in which R 1 and R 2 are C 1-6 alkyl and R 4 is H, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl or alkaryl. Some of the novel aminimines have surfactant properties. |
