Method and automation controller for issuing maintenance information for an automation component.

The method involves functionally attaching a local operating device e.g. human machine interface (HMI1, HMI2), to automation components (AK1-AK6) in an automation arrangement. Status information concerning to the automation components is produced in an automation controller i.e. CPU, and the status information is used by the automation controller for producing or changing maintenance information. The maintenance information is transmitted and outputted from the automation controller to the operating device. The maintenance is processed in a standard data format. An independent claim is also included for an automation controller for determining status information of automation components in an automation controller.
