<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll fluid machine improving compression efficiency of a refrigerant by reducing pressure loss and dead volume while preventing deformation of a fixed scroll. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A recessed section 36c including a discharge hole 56 is arranged on a rear surface 36b of the fixed scroll 36. The recessed section 36c is covered by a cover 50 made by a rigid body which is fastened at an outer peripheral edge of the recessed section so as to form a space between the cover and the fixed scroll.
