<p>ULTRASONIC ASSISTED ELECTRO DISCHARGE MACHINING An apparatus for machining holes into a conductive workpiece includes a tank at least partially filled with a dielectric fluid, a fixture for holding the workpiece in the tank, an electro discharge machine, and an ultrasonic source. The electro discharge machine includes an electrode and a power supply connected to the electrode that produces machining pulses for electro discharge machining through the workpiece. The ultrasonic source includes an ultrasonic generator and a transducer, wherein the transducer is partially submerged in the fluid contained within the tank.</p> |
