The assembly (E) has an optical fiber (1) introduced inside a cannula (2). The fiber has a core (10) surrounded by an external protective sheath (11). The sheath has an outer diameter (D1) equal to an internal diameter (D2) of the cannula in a distal portion of the cannula. The core is stripped on a distal part (100) of the fiber, and the stripped distal part is accommodated entirely inside the cannula. The cannula has a hollow insert with a continuous inner cavity at its distal part (21), and the part (100) is threaded in the insert.
