The device (1) has a single side equipped printed circuit board (10) whose back side (11) is partially fixed on a supporting structure (13) of a housing bottom (8) of a housing (7). The supporting structure has chamfered or curved bearing surfaces (14, 15) and fastening parts (16, 17) that cooperate with the chamfered or curved bearing surfaces for fixing the printed circuit board. The circuit board has a deformed vibration-damped cross section in a fixed condition. The board is prestressed and fixed between the bearing surfaces and the fastening parts. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an engine control device.
