An inexpensive cellulose acylate film is provided to ensure high transmittance and excellent optical isotropy(Re, Rth) and be reduced in foreign substance defect, unevenness, and scratch. A cellulose acylate film has Re(590) and Rth(590) capable of satisfying the relation I of 0<=Re(590)<=10 and the relation II of -25<=Rth(590)<=25, and a beam transmittance of 88% or more at the wavelength of 590 nm, wherein the number of foreign substances having a long axis of 50-200 micron is 20 pieces/m^2. In the relations, Re(590) represents an in-plane retardation value(nm) at the wavelength of 590 nm and at 25°C under 60% RH, and Rth(590) represents a thickness-directional retardation value(nm) at the wavelength of 590 nm and at 25 °C under 60% RH. |
