The train set has a current collector (SA) and an associated input system for power supply of electrical consumers i.e. drive motors (FM), of the train set. A slow memory (S2) and a fast memory (S1) are connected parallel to each other. A control device (ST) controls the supply of the electrical consumers by the input system for the current collector and/or the slow memory and/or the fast memory, dependent on an operating condition of the train set. The control device is formed for detection of an operating condition under contact wire. An independent claim is also included for a method for energy management of a motor train set.
