<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable highly efficient coding for a moving image in which the luminance changes in time such as a fading image or a dissolve image. <P>SOLUTION: The decoding method includes a step in which a variable length decoder 303 decodes coded data 300 including a predictive error signal indicating an error for a predictive image signal for a moving image signal having a luminance signal and two color difference signals, motion vector information 414 and index information 415 indicating a combination between at least one reference image number and a predictive parameter previously prepared for each luminance signal and two color difference signals; a step in which a frame memory/predictive image generator 308 generates a predictive image signal 412 in accordance with the reference image number and the predictive parameter of the combination indicated by the decoded index information; and a step in which a reproduced moving image signal is generated using the predictive error signal and the predictive image signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
