The generator (1) has an electric motor (6) i.e. permanent magnet-excited synchronous motor, comprising a rotor (7) directly coupled with a crankshaft (3) of an internal combustion engine (2). The rotor comprises a hollow-cylindrical rotor part (9) encompassing a stator (8) of the electric motor. Inner diameter of the rotor part is larger than double of distance (A) between a connection rod bearing shaft (P) and a rotation axle (R) of the crankshaft. The electric motor exhibits a height (H) amounting to half of diameter (D) of the electric motor.
