<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sub-engine type transport refrigerating device suppressed in the unit height, filling water by setting a water filling fitting to an appropriate height position all the time during filling of cooling water and suppressing shortage of cooling water and a risk of air inclusion. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the sub-engine type transport refrigerating device 1, a hose connection part 21 is provided in a lower portion of a cooling channel system of a sub-engine 5, and an extendable and flexible water filling/discharge hose 22 having a capped water filling/discharge fitting 23 provided at the other end is connected to the hose connection part 21. The water filling/discharge fitting 23 is set on the inner face of a front face panel 3A and in the position becoming set height when the front face panel 3A is opened upwardly.
