METHOD FOR TESTING ON RISK OF METABOLIC SYNDROME OR CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE, AND KIT FOR RISK TEST

An object aims to provide: a highly reliable and clinically useful method for testing on the risk of metabolic syndrome or a cardiovascular disease; and a reagent and a kit for use in the method.  Another object aims to provide information useful for the prevention of metabolic syndrome or a cardiovascular disease or the improvement in quality of life of a patient suffering from metabolic syndrome or a cardiovascular disease.  A nucleic acid sample collected from a subject is subjected to the detection of a single nucleotide polymorphism (rs1656930 polymorphism) defined by Accession No. 1656930 in the SNP database available in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) in U.S.A., thereby determining the risk of metabolic syndrome or a cardiovascular disease in the subject.
