<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary drive mechanism which is compact in the axial direction even with one speed reducers is with each of two motors and allows high-speed rotation without developing a large-sized motor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The rotary drive mechanism includes: a support 102, in which a first orifice 104 is formed; a first speed reducer 106, which has a first input shaft 110 and a first output shaft 112 intersecting the first input shaft 110 perpendicularly and which is attached to the support 102 in such a way that the first output shaft 112 is arranged at the first orifice 104 side; a first motor 114, which is coupled to the first input shaft 110; a second speed reducer 128, which has a second input shaft 130 and a second output shaft 134 and which is attached to the first output shaft 112 inside the first orifice 104 with the second output shaft 134 and the first output shaft 112 arranged on the same axis O; and a second motor 118, which is coupled to the second input shaft 130.
