<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a user from inserting a portable recording medium into a recording medium inserting section inadaptable to the recording medium in an information processing apparatus that has a recording medium inserting section for each of a plurality of types of the portable recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus includes the recording medium inserting section provided for each of the plurality of types of the portable recording medium, and reads and processes information stored in the portable recording medium inserted in the recording medium inserting section.
