<p>PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for compressing selectively session initiation protocol message in the ip multimedia subsystem are provided to reduce the load of the P- CSCF(Proxy Call Session Control Function) by compressing the SIP message selectively. CONSTITUTION: A transceiver(311) receives the SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) message in which the compression information is recorded. A discriminating unit(315) compares the fixed compression critical value, and decides the compression of the SIP message. In case the size of the SIP message exceeds the compression critical value, the discriminating unit decides the compression. If the compression is decided, the compression unit(317) compresses the SIP message. The transceiver transmits the compressed or non-compressed SIP message to the radio communication terminal.</p> |
