PURPOSE: An agent containing granulocyte colony stimulating factor(G-CSF) for preventing or treating neuropathic pain is provided to improve neurotransmission rate and relieve pain. CONSTITUTION: An agent for preventing or treating neuropathic pain contains granulocyte colony stimulating factor(G-CSF) as an active ingredient. The G-CSF is isolated from natural or recombinant origin. The G-CSF is recombinant human granulocyte colony stimulating factor(rhG-CSF). The neuropathic pain is postherpetic neuralgia, post-thoracotomic pain, trigemial neuralgia, thalamic pain, phantom limb pain, or complex regional pain syndrome.
