PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging lens which has a wide angle, a large diameter with an F-number of about 2.0, and also, which is relatively compact, wherein astigmatism, curvature of the field, transverse chromatic aberration, chromatic aberration of coma and distortion aberration, etc., are sufficiently reduced, and a resolution corresponding to an imaging element of 10 million to 20 million pixels is obtained. SOLUTION: The imaging lens includes a first lens group G1 positioned in an object side, a second lens group G2 positioned in an image side, and an aperture diaphragm FA between the first lens group and the second lens group. The first lens group G1 includes, in order from the object side, an object-side first lens group GF1 comprising two negative lenses E1 and E2 and an image-side first lens group GR1 comprising a positive lens E3 that are positioned with the largest air distance therebetween in the first lens group G1 as a boundary. The second lens group G2 comprises an object-side second lens group GF2 comprising a fourth lens E4 to a seventh lens E7, and an image-side second lens group GR2 comprising an eighth lens E8.
