PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine capable of preventing impairment of a player's eagerness for the play in a special game state by diversifying the mode of variable display of identification information in the special game state. SOLUTION: The game machine includes: a variable display mode determining means for determining the mode of the variable display of ornament symbols; and a special game state generating means for generating a time shortening mode for shortening the variable display time of ornament symbols in the period from the establishment of a prescribed condition till the number of times of execution of the variable display control of ornament symbols reaches a prescribed upper limit. In a special mode, the variable display mode determining means determines the mode of variable display of ornament symbols at a higher probability of determining a ready-to-win variable display mode, in which the variable display time is extended, among modes of variable display of ornament symbols in the period after the variable display control of ornament symbols is executed a prescribed number of times till the number of times reaches the prescribed upper limit than in the period before the variable display control is executed the prescribed number of times.
