PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a printing method in which density uniformity of an image printed on a printing medium is ensured even when the moving speed of the printing medium is accelerated/decelerated. SOLUTION: The ink-jet printer is provided with: a discharge part 21 in which a plurality of discharge ports are arrayed in the width direction perpendicular to the predetermined moving direction of printing paper over the full width of a printing zone on printing paper; and a paper feeding mechanism 3 for continuously moving the printing paper to the moving direction. In the body control part 4 of the printer, a density correction part 441 changes the voltage of a discharge signal to be input in the discharge part 21 on the basis of the counted value of a counter, which indicates the moving speed of the printing paper, when the moving speed of the printing paper is continuously changed in the middle of printing and intervals of ink discharging operations in the discharge part 21 are changed, so that the amount of the ink to be discharged from each of discharge ports is made almost fixed during the time when the moving speed of the printing paper is changed when one dot is plotted.
