PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, though a cobalt based Heusler alloy is expected as the candidate of a half metal material (P=1), its spin polarizability measured by a point contact Andreev reflection method (PCAR method) is the degree of 0.6 which is remarkably lower than the value (P=1) of half metal in all the alloys, and to provide a Co based Heusler alloy which has a high spin polarizability which has not been obtained heretofore. SOLUTION: The Co based Heusler alloy has compositional formula Co2MnW1-XGaX (wherein, 0<X<1, and W is any element selected from Si, Ge and Sn), and thus its spin polarizability measured by a PCAR method is made the high one which has not been obtained heretofore.
