<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability by securing high supercharging pressure while quickly reaching target temperature of an exhaust emission control device by controlling the opening of an exhaust gas throttle valve in an internal combustion engine provided with a supercharger, the exhaust emission control device and the exhaust gas throttle valve. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the internal combustion engine provided with a turbocharger, the exhaust emission control device, and the exhaust gas throttle valve, a supercharger control device C2 controls operation position of a variable vane of the turbocharger based on pressure difference between target supercharging pressure Po and actual supercharging pressure P, an exhaust gas throttle valve control device C3 is provided with an opening set means 51 for temperature setting opening Dt for temperature of the exhaust gas throttle valve based on temperature difference ΔT between actual temperature T and target temperature in an activated state of a catalyst device. The exhaust gas throttle valve control device C3 controls the exhaust gas throttle valve 8 to the opening Dt for temperature at a close side as compared to reference opening in order to raise temperature of the catalyst device when the actual temperature is lower than the actual temperature T and the variable vane does not occupies the minimum opening position for raising supercharging pressure.
