THERMOPLASTIC FILM, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME, POLARIZING PLATE, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic film having a largely inclined structure of an optical axis and causing no display unevenness in making a total surface black display in a pitch-dark room when used for a liquid crystal display.

SOLUTION: A thermoplastic film method for manufacturing includes: a process for melt-extruding a composition containing thermoplastic resin, from a die; and a process for continuously clamping a melt-extruded molten material between a first clamping surface and a second clamping surface constituting a clamping device to form the molten material in film shape. The film is formed while the reaching points of the molten material extruded from the die, on the first clamping surface or the second clamping surface are periodically varied by 0.01-5 mm, and the moving speed of the first clamping surface is made faster than that of the second clamping surface.
