PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coaxial cable low in transmission loss and high in resistance to external noises and shielding effect. SOLUTION: In the coaxial cable, an insulating layer 12 is formed around a signal line 10 and a metal deposition tape 21 formed by depositing metal at least onto one surface of an insulating material tape 22 is spirally wound on the insulating layer 12 to form a shield ground layer 20. A metal deposition tape 21c with a metal surface 23c inwardly directed is superposed on a plurality of spiral loops consisting of metal deposition tapes 21a, 21b with metal surfaces 23a, 23b outwardly directed to join together the adjacent spiral loops in a winding axis direction.
