<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that there is a method suitable for production of various articles in small quantities while dispensing with exclusive instruments when glass or plastics are used as a member for transmitting light while cutting off the view but there is no method suitable for production of various articles in small quantities while dispensing with exclusive instruments when an article having the external appearance like a Japanese paper-used shoji (a Japanese paper-used sliding screen) is produced. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A coating method, in which a coating material is applied by using a spray gun to the surface of a light transmissive material consisting of glass or plastics, comprises the steps of: sparsely discharging the coating material having 0.12-1.0 pascal-second viscosity under 0.05-0.5 MPa air jetting pressure in a 20°C environment; and applying a secondary coating onto the applied coating material to uniformly cover the surface of the discharged coating material with the secondary coating.
