The invention aims at prolonging the life of reduced water. According to the invention, alkaline water is produced by using raw water containing ionized metal minerals dissolved therein and hydrogen gas (H) and introducing the raw water and hydrogen gas into an electromagnetic section in the equipment. The hydrogen gas introduced into the electromagnetic section is converted into bubbles and ionized through electrolytic dissociation and the resulting ionized hydrogen bubbles are finely divided. Among the resulting ions of hydrogen, hydride ions (H-), which are minus ions of hydrogen, coordinate to the peripheries of metal mineral nuclei to form metal mineral complex ions (ions of metal mineral complexes). The complex ions can exist stably in a state dissolved in water for a long time, thus giving alkaline water, namely, reduced water. The reduced water can be utilized as drinking water and the container for bottling it is preferably a metal one.
