<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a resin roller by which when the outer surface of a resin layer is machined for shaping into the outer circumference face of a resin roller, chips can be reliably prevented from coming into contact with the outer surface of the resin layer. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a resin roller is disclosed, the roller comprising a long shaft member 20 and a resin layer 21 provided surrounding the shaft member. The method includes: a resin layer forming step of forming the resin layer 21 on the outer circumference of the shaft member 20; and a shaping and machining step of machining the outer surface 21a of the resin layer 21 so as to shape into the outer circumference face of the resin roller 12.
