PURPOSE: A fuzzy based image summarizing device using characteristic information of each genre and a method thereof are provided to present the information properly summarizing contents by automatically analyzing diverse moving image contents fit to each characteristic. CONSTITUTION: A knowledge database(30) stores a characteristic pattern arranged by each moving image genre as a template. A moving image characteristic extractor(40) extracts the characteristic information by analyzing a moving image. A preprocessor(10) divides a moving image sequence inputted with the genre information into each shot by using the characteristic information. A fuzzy reasoning part(20) generates a summarizing algorithm by tuning condition values reflecting the characteristic of the moving image after repeatedly performing a reasoning work of each step to each characteristic of the moving image based on the template stored in the knowledge database. A summary information generator(50) forms the summary information by a part of the shots through the summarizing algorithm. |
